Motel 6 Chilhowie, VA - I-81

Great and clean stay! Very welcoming and accommodative staff. Would 100% recommend!

Some people steal energy from others. Folks here fit that bill. I saw rooms here advertised at the morel six site for 58.95. I am a senior my six member and could have gone online and booked a room for $51 and change but I did not. I drove in and asked the woman at the desk for the 58.97 price. She told me walk in price was $70. I asked her where on line a different walk in price was advertised. She said online price was only if you registered on line. I thanked her for her time, and walked to the truck. I called motel 6 and got the room for $51.34. Motel six took a cut of that for registering me. I walked in, gave her my reservation number and she looked shocked that i was back and had spen 30 percent less. The place was not gross but had not had a deep cleaning in a good while. The bathtub ran continuously. The room fridge compressor had a rattle. The room heater was on and worked but suffered from fan noise. All of the towel bars and toilet paper holders but one towel hook were missing. So, out of greed and weak ethics, the motel operator wound up with less money and out of spite for having paid less I was given a substandard room. As I write this I am in a rest area on my way through again and I will be happy to avoid a spot where folks will live up to their word and their end of the bargain. Maybe they leave the light on for you because they have no one capable of fixing the switch?

I do a lot of traveling and I don't need all the amenities that higher priced motels offer so I stay at Motel 6's a lot. this one is by FAR the best one I have ever stayed at! If I could give them 100 stars I would! They earned them. The room and sheets were very clean. I stayed 2 nights and didn't see one bug, roach, or insect in the room. The location is great and a very safe place to stay. The staff also was amazingly friendly! If you are anywhere in the area looking for a room do NOT bother looking any farther you will not be disappointed in the least. Motel 6 should give this place an award! Hands down 100 stars!

I had a fantastic stsy here. Alex at the front desk was AWESOME, super friendly and very kind. You can not ask for anything better from a hotel. Great location, food places are near by. I woukd recommend any travelers to stay here. I will stay here again , if I am in the area. Thanks Again Alex

I absolutely love this motel. I stayed here with my kids for a few weeks right after hurricane Helene. We were in a bad situation & we were welcomed with open arms. Service was wonderful & rooms were clean. We had no problems at all & met a lot of very nice people. Very affordable compared to the other motels nearby. Thank you so much for all that you did for us

Nice and clean. Quiet and they welcomed my little dog without any fuss. I've stayed there twice and have been satisfied each time.

We've stayed here many, many times and are basically regulars. (were not.married with religious families) so yeah its our home away from home. The employees are extremely friendly, helpful and keep the place clean as well as well stocked. Its all you need in a hotel.

Stayed here on vacation. Loved the room. Very clean, nice bed. Front desk was great. Oh thank you for bringing me the tub stopper. My bath was awesome!! We are coming back next month.
